Well, like I said Monday and Tuesday were not to bad, but starting on Wednesday a number of side effects popped up. Jane’s heart rate went up at 95 beats a minute. We called the doctor on Wednesday afternoon and got no response. By Thursday morning her heart rate had drop down to 90 and Jane felt okay. Jane has had a low grade fever on and off since Thursday was achy. The fever is most likely a side effect from the herceptin. Friday was pretty good day for Jane she felt good. On Friday night Jane had some welts show up on her face. We think it may be from something that she ate.
Round Two (Monday’s treatment)
(Ding Ding!) Jane circle right in the to chair and took the treatment like a champ. Todays treatment seemed to go a lot better. She talked to the doctor and asked not to take the benadryl, which is to help stop any reaction to the treatment. To which the doctor complied and Jane seems to be doing much better. She did have a sight fever this evening. As far as the rest of the side effects go we will have to wait and see.
Jane talked to the doctor about her racing heart and the doctor seemed to be a little concerned. Jane will return to the doctor’s office and Thursday to check-in with the doctor and ensure all is well. Prior to the doctors visit Jane will get an EKG so the doctor can have some sort of baseline.
As always the best thing you can do for us is to continue to pray. Jane is doing much better then I think she thought she would do. We believe it is because of your prayers.
Today we got three cards in the mail from Christ Fellowship, it is a church in Florida. I believe that Chris England’s parents go there (Chris/Jack and Diane are a part of our church family). Both time Jane has gone through this they have been a great support. Probably the coolest thing about this cancer (If cancer can have a cool side) is that from the far sides of the United States people are praying for us. It is amazing! I know that God is being glorified in this as the church in united in this cause. So, I thank everyone that has had a part in praying for us.
Continue to pray for Jane this week that she would continue to stay strong and not react with side effects. But first pray for complete healing. 🙂
Pray for the boys as I am seeing it effect them, I think they are feeling the stress that we feel and it is coming out in little ways.
Pray for me, as some things at work have not gone as well as they could have and it is cause me a lot of stress. Partly because I am not in agreement with some of the decisions that have been made, and partly because I am not sure how to handle the situation. It is hard to explain. Jane is a woman of wisdom, so when I complain she sets me straight and helps to have the right heart and mind.
P.S Blog Style
I don’t know if you can P.S. in a blog, but with the internet the rules are made as we go along!
The project update
I have turn the project over to my good friend and encourager, Jon Kam. Jon and I have been meeting weekly for almost five years, he has been a great support. Jon works as a construction manger of very large projects. Jon has been out here to look at the project and is working on a plan. The material list is almost ready and we will look to purchase sometime soon. Jon told me that construction will most likely take place in the middle of October. Jon will be sending out an email to those who have shown interest, if you want to ensure that you get the email please click on his name above and send him an email.
Who Would Of Thought?
Deuteronomy 2:7 for the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through the great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.
This word of encouragement to the Israelites is truly how I feel. God is watching over us every step of the way and today I lack nothing!
