About

If you are reading this then you must be wondering what this is all about. Well, it all started in December of 2005, my wife, Jane, found a lump in her breast. The lump turned out to be cancer. After a long year of treatment Jane was clear of the cancer and life began to go back to normal. Two years later, one year after the treatment stopped, at a routine follow up appoint the doctors found something suspicious in her lungs. With out warning the cancer and resurfaced and the doctor fears it is stage IV.

This is the odyssey that the Arney family is on as we deal with this sickness. Please read, comment as appropriate and provide love and support.

Our family is Ray, Jane, Samuel (12) and Gabriel (11).

  1. Jane & Ray,

Jane you are truly a vision of God’s faithful and strong.

When Ray told me last week I was taken aback and it really broke my heart not only for you but also the family. Vicky also respond in the same manner when we talked later that night. It remind both of us the importance of our own relationship as well as the family.

We want to know that you are in our prayers daily and have also engaged mini church in prayer for you and the family.

Jane & Ray if there is anything that we can do for you please do not hesitate to ask. We are grateful for your freindship by more importantly the stewadship of others through your walk.

    God Bless – jon

  2. Ray and Jane,

you have been the church’s greatest supporters and the most humble and supporting people i have met. Jane, you are an awesome teacher and Bekah LOVES you! Ray, you have been my confidant and biggest chearleader. Your boys are awesome. We will do anything you need. Just ask. Or I will! 🙂

FOR THOSE WHO MAY NOT KNOW: this is the best couple in the world! When they handed off the batan to Lisa and me, they did it with love and a smoothness that is unheard of. I attribute much of the fruit of HCWO to Ray and Jane Arney.

RAY AND JANE: Don’t give up! We are behind you, in front of you, alongside you.

    With Love,

    MIKE AND LISA KAI

We love you guys! We really, really , really love you guys! We know thats probably mushy – but to bad! 🙂
Our hearts are burdened and heavy with uncertainty, but we continue to petition God for complete healing – praying with expectation of no less. Please know that we are here, whenever and for whatever you need.

“It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24

    Love you,

  5. Aloha! Sometimes we don’t know what to say or believe when we are confronted with our own human-ness. Ray and Jane we are supporting you from Hilo and the Big Island. We have hundreds of our friends over the world praying for Jane – a total and complete healing – and Ray, Samuel and Gabriel. I trust that our Savior and Healer will heal Jane. Don’t give up hope – we won’t either. The truth is stronger than the lie and blessing of Jesus is stronger than the curse of cancer.

20 years is a long time and while we are not there in Honolulu we are supportive and extend our hands. If you guys want to come over and stay with us on a weekend, let us know. Our house is big enough for you to stay with us.

We will see you shortly – in October. We are coming over for LA.

  6. Ray and Jane, we are praying for your whole family! You guys are an inspiration to us. You guys make God real and give a bigger picture to the blessings God has given all of us.

If you need anything please let us know.

    Merry Christmas and Happy New!

  7. I had no idea that you guys were going through such a big trial. I will definately be praying. In your latest blog, it looks like you’re having trouble with the insurance. I have Blue Shield as well. Can we consumers protest or do anything to change their policy? If you know of anything, let me know. I’ll be praying for the procedure this week as well.

  8. We recieved your Family News Letter in January and it was so good to hear from you. I did not know of the trials you have been going through these last few years until this morning when I felt a prompting to finally remember to visit this web site. I had my suspicions of what it could be when I read your letter. I have been praying for you since January. I will continue to pray for all of you, especially Jane, and will frequent your site for updates so that we may pray for your specific needs.

I see you are in Los Angeles right now. My hope is that it may be possible to meet up with you before you leave Southern California. In any case, have a wonderful vacation!

Holding you close in our thoughts and prayers.

  9. You are in my prayers today. We all miss seeing the whole family at Trinity gatherings, but I did see Sam and Gabe at Erik’s play on Saturday, and they were delightful as always. Please know that you are daily in our hearts and on our minds, and we
    think the world of you.

    See you soon!

    Mark

  10. Arney Family,

We miss you guys and are always glad to see you at church. When things become less hectic, lets get together again.

We still haven’t tried a new mini-church, yet. We will but its hard to find one that was like ours.

    Aloha,

    Don, Dorothy and Skyla
